Unlike
our traditional tankering service, this sophisticated mobile filtration system
removed the whole contents of the tank and with the use of polymers, removes
the sludge and suspended solids and replaces the liquor to the tank. The
major benefit of this system is that it returns the all important bacteria,
enabling the system to start its biological process immediately.
Blockages
A common problem with any sewage system. However, there are two sections of pipe which can become blocked. The connecting pipe from the property to the septic tank or cesspit and in the case of septic tanks only, the exit pipe from the tank to the soak-a-way.

Leaking Tanks - Inspections & Repairs
Older properties may have pits constructed of brick, which over time may require repair or replacement. Later properties will have tanks constructed of glass fibre or similar materials, which under normal use should require little in the way of maintenance. However, both types of tank can be inspected internally for leaks and repaired or replaced.
A leaking tank has two effects. It allows waste to contaminate the surrounding ground giving rise to potential odour problems, soft ground and potential contamination of nearby water courses.
Secondly, a leaking tank will re-fill with ground water if the local water table is high due to heavy rainfall. It is not uncommon to have the tank emptied to find it full again within hours in this situation.

Electrical & Mechanical Faults
If you
have a share system (one which services several properties) it is likely
to be a small treatment plant with mechanical and electrical components.
This type of plant requires periodic emptying and preventative maintenance.

Lifting - Refits
Most sewage tanks are installed underground and remain there without intrusion. However, poorly installed tanks can and will rise to the surface when emptied and the local ground water levels are high. If this occurs contact your builder and local Environment Officer.
Soak-a-way Refurbishment
Soak-a-ways are designed to dispense the final effluent from septic tanks to the surrounding soil. However, over time the soak-a-way will become restricted or even blocked causing the system to back-up and or to give off unpleasant odours. Having the septic tank de-sludged on a regular basis will maximise the life of the soak-a-way.
